Description
The Deluxe Evacuation Chair is the ideal equipment for negotiating stairs or uneven surfaces with an injured person in the event of an emergency. The chair has a special track system, which allows safe and easy transportation down steps and stairs.
A sick, injured, or any person unable to negotiate stairs independently is at risk. If your building risk assessment indicates that the steps or stairs in your workplace are a risk factor, this is even more reason to consider providing an evacuation chair.
Our Deluxe Evacuation Chair has 4 wheels. This enables the chair to travel over most surfaces with minimal effort.
We have a range of evacuation solutions. You may also consider our standard evac chair or our mobile transit chair.
HSE guidance clearly states employers have a legal duty of care towards their employees. This certainly includes arranging equipment to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if an injury occurs in the workplace. If your risk assessment indicates the steps or stairs in your workplace could prove a risk, an evac chair would be recommended.
Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER)
Evacuation Chairs are Class 1 Medical Devices and are therefore subject to PUWER which covers all safety-critical emergency equipment in the work place. Regular maintenance is a legal requirement to ensure they function flawlessly during an evacuation event, and should undergo servicing at least once every 12 months to strictly comply with UK PUWER.
