The forestry first aid kit is suitable for forestry workers, tree surgeons and arborists. The kit has a comprehensive content to cover a small team of workers with more dressings, gloves and eye wash available than a standard first aid kit.
HSE Workplace first aid guidelines apply to any workplace, both indoors and out. Employers need to provide comprehensive first aid cover for forestry workers such as arborists and tree surgeons in all situations. In addition, these supplies should be available to employees at all times.
The first aid kit content is based on the BS8599 workplace kits but has a different mixture of products suitable for injuries likely to occur in forestry.
Current Forestry Commission guidelines also require Forestry and Chainsaw workers to carry a personal forestry first aid kit which includes a large wound dressing in addition to having access to a more comprehensive first aid kit, such as this one, at all times.
